The art College held a special lecture on improving the teaching ability of young teachers

On March 12th, Professor Sheng Jin delivered a lecture entitled "Awakening, Reshaping and Symbiosis—— Reflections on Artificial Intelligence Art Education" in the 2401 multi-functional lecture hall of the School of Art for teachers and students to explore the intersection and integration of artificial intelligence and art education.

Sheng Jin, Vice Dean and Professor at the School of Media Arts, Nanjing University of the Arts, has been a professor and doctoral supervisor. In recent years, he has made significant achievements in digital media art and artificial intelligence art. He has led five provincial-level research projects, published over 20 papers in authoritative domestic journals, created works that have won more than 30 national and provincial/ministerial awards, and guided students to secure over 90 national and provincial/ministerial awards.

  

During the lecture, Professor Sheng first elaborated on how the rapid development of artificial intelligence has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges to art education. He emphasized that in the new era context, art education must actively embrace technological transformation to revitalize its vitality. Subsequently, he shared innovative practices of AI in curriculum design, teaching methods, and evaluation systems. Finally, he projected the development trends in the intersection of art and technology. Art educators should proactively guide students to master AI technologies while cultivating their interdisciplinary thinking and comprehensive innovation capabilities. At the same time, he reminded everyone that during the pursuit of technology-art integration, it is crucial to emphasize the humanistic spirit of art, ensuring that art education maintains the correct direction amidst technological changes.

Professor Sheng's insightful yet accessible lectures provided educators and students with valuable pedagogical perspectives, sparking profound discussions on AI-assisted art education. During the interactive session, participants engaged in lively exchanges with Professor Sheng regarding ethical considerations in AI-driven artistic creation, strategies for balancing technological advancement with artistic integrity, and approaches to cultivating students' artistic literacy in the AI era.

The success of this lecture has greatly expanded the academic vision of teachers and students of the School of Art, Jiangsu University, enhanced their understanding of artificial intelligence art education, and injected new vitality into the teaching reform and innovative practice of the school.
