On the morning of April 28, 2024, the Art Academy conducted a negotiation meeting for international exchange and cooperation projects with Thammasat University (TU) via the Tencent Meeting platform. Participants included Han Rong, Dean of the Art Academy; Jin Jing, Director of the Thai-Chinese Art Center at TU; Chen Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the Art Academy; and Jiao Menglu, Counselor.
Prior to this negotiation meeting, the Academy and TU had conducted repeated deliberations on their respective educational strengths and opportunities for cooperation, as well as conducted preliminary research on specific projects such as academic qualification upgrading and credit mutual recognition, laying a solid foundation for the successful holding of this negotiation meeting.
During the meeting, Dean Han Rong provided Director Jin Jing with a detailed introduction to the Academy's overall situation, including its development history, professional settings, and research strength. Dean Han expressed the hope that both parties can carry out in-depth cooperation in various fields such as talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and cultural exchanges, thereby promoting the complementary sharing of high-quality resources between the two universities and cultivating more high-quality talents.
Subsequently, Deputy Secretary Chen Guoqiang introduced to Director Jin Jing the Academy's intentions for exchange and cooperation projects, which mainly include cooperative training modes such as student "short-term workshops," "semester exchange programs," and "international classes," and raised questions concerning admission majors, semester hours and specific courses, mutual recognition of course credits, tuition fees for international classes, and cooperation modes.
Next, Director Jin Jing introduced the basic situation of TU, with a focus on the cooperative training projects that the university has already launched, such as student "short-term workshops," "semester exchange programs," and the "3+1+1 (bachelor's to master's)" program, and exchanged views on the advancement of related cooperation projects.
During this international exchange project negotiation meeting, both parties conducted in-depth discussions on specific cooperation in the next steps, including visits and exchanges, joint talent cultivation, and teacher training. Through this meeting, both parties reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation, which not only enhanced mutual understanding and friendship but also laid a solid foundation for closer cooperation between the two universities in the future. Looking ahead, the Art Academy will continue to deepen cooperation with TU, jointly promote the internationalization of education, and jointly drive innovative development in talent cultivation.
