In order to further promote the exchange between outstanding college students in colleges and universities across the country, expand the academic influence of art and design related disciplines, explore diversified graduate student enrollment and selection mechanisms, and effectively improve the quality of graduate students, the opening ceremony of the 2022 Summer Camp for Outstanding College Students of the School of Arts of Jiangsu University was held online in the 1302 Smart Classroom of the School of Arts on the morning of July 7, 2022. Zhang Wenli, Deputy Dean of the School of Arts, presided over the opening ceremony, and Zhu Lixin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Arts, Han Rong, Dean of the School of Arts, Zhang Kai, Deputy Dean of the School of Arts, and the heads of professional directions of various degree points attended the event.
At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Zhu Lixin extended a warm welcome to the campers from colleges and universities across the country on behalf of the college, and introduced the characteristics of graduate education, discipline advantages, training conditions and enrollment policies of the School of Art, and hoped that all campers would continue to deepen their understanding of design and art theory at home and abroad, better grasp the trend of design art development, and clarify the historical mission of design art talents in the new era through this summer camp activity. Afterwards, Dean Han Rong introduced the schedule of the summer camp, hoping that the campers would complement each other through periodic reports and exchanges, and wished the campers success in learning, thinking and learning.
After the opening ceremony, the morning activity agenda of the summer camp officially began, and Vice Dean Zhang Wenli introduced the graduate education of the college in detail from the aspects of the development history, professional settings, teaching and research achievements, academic research, international exchanges and honorary awards of teachers and students, and as the person in charge of digital art design, introduced the basic information of the faculty, research focus, graduate employment and other basic information of the direction for the students. Subsequently, the professional leaders in the fields of art collection and market research, calligraphy and painting, visual and information design, public environment art design, industrial design engineering, art history and art archaeology research also introduced them in turn, which further enhanced the students' understanding of all aspects of the discipline construction of the art college.
Professor Chen Jiandong, head of art history and art archaeology research at the School of Arts, was also invited to give an academic lecture entitled "Rural Aesthetics and Agricultural Aesthetics". The report focuses on the countryside, agriculture, and nature, and explores the pre-rational relationship between man and the countryside, the relationship between survival, and the relationship of implication, and how to establish an aesthetic attitude towards the countryside, agriculture, and nature in the relationship, and can bring it to practice.
This summer camp lasts for 15 days, and a total of 44 outstanding college students from 29 universities across the country will participate in various professional activities and academic exchanges online, which can not only broaden students' professional knowledge and academic vision, but also allow students to have a more comprehensive understanding of the running of the School of Arts of Jiangsu University, further enhance the popularity of the college in graduate education, and attract more outstanding college students to apply for our school.
The activities on the afternoon of the 7th of the summer camp were held in the online meetings of the professional direction groups. The activity agenda mainly includes campers' self-introduction, professional ability display, research plan introduction, etc., and academic exchanges with tutors in their respective directions. Instructors will rate campers based on their performance and strictly according to relevant standards.
