Site visiting in Huaiying Village with students and faculties from University of Idaho
With the purpose of learning the needs of clients, and group study, students and faculties from both school start site analysis in Huaiying village at 2:00pm, June 14, 2013. In the processes of investigation, the committee of Huaiying village arranged the presentations on geographic, transportation, historical legend, cultural characteristics, etc. With the guide of stuffs, students and faculties from both school visited the Huaiying temple, weaving house, 7 fairy pond. The students photographed and measured for the further analysis, which not only guaranteed the success of the project but also improved the relationships. (School of Art, Xing Yujie)
A group of students and faculties from University of Idaho and Jiangsu University visit to Zhenjiang Urban Planning Exhibition Center
With the purpose of promoting the culture exchange, students and faculties from both school visited Zhenjiang Urban Planning Exhibition Center.
Students and faculties visited Master Plan Model hall, City Plan hall, South Mountain and North water hall, Master Plan of Development Zone, Historical and culture protection Plan hall, Bioregional Plan hall, and Planting Plan hall in orderly under the presentation of stuffs. This visit gave the students and faculties a perceptual understanding of the innovation and inherited of development of Zhenjiang, which may help in control the direction of this project. Final presentation and exhibition of group design team in School of Art
The final presentation and exhibition of group design project was held on the 1stfloor of School of Art. 29 students from Jiangsu University and University of Idaho joined the activities at 2pm, June 25th2013 as well as the faculties and stuffs Professor Stephen Drown, Associate Professor Gary Austin, Dr. Hu Xiao, Dean of Oversea Education School Mrs Gao Jing, Vice Dean of School of Art Post Dr. Han Rong,and Mrs Li Shuyan from International Office.
For promoting the new development of country side,the group design team selected Huaiying village historical district restoration project. The presentation was divided into 4 teams that each team represented their site analysis, design concept, schematic master plan, and perspectives. The faculties gave cretics to each team and discussed the professional issues in the project.
With holding the project of developing a new country side in China, students from both school start to learn more about state of the people, culture and tradition, traditional values etc. in the process of shared work, living, and studying. Wish we can keep the shared memory and pass them on, that make us the constructor and promoter of the relationship in between Jiangsu University and University of Idaho.
Presentation for students and faculties of University of Idaho by Gao Jing, the dean of Oversea Education School
For promoting a better communication and education exchange, Dean of Oversea Education School Gao Jing gave a rich presentation on history of Zhenjiang and instruction of Jiangsu University at 9am, June 15th,2013 inconference room 1304. The presentation includes the geographic, legend, and local characteristics of Zhenjiang, as well as history, scientific and academic courses, research groups, teaching results, campus culture of Jiangsu University. This made solid bases of cooperation and exchange. After presentation, we arranged a campus tour on electric car, which gave the students and faculties of University of Idaho a brief view of our school. (School of Art, Xin Yujie)
Vice Dean of Oversea Education School Mr. Li Xingchao Gave a Lecture to the Students and Faculties of University of Idaho
An interesting introduction of history and culture of Zhenjiang by vice dean of oversea education school Mr. Li Xingchao. The lecture was held by vice dean of School of Art Han Rong.
The introduction included the legend of flooding of Jinshan Temple, white snake, royal marriage in Beigu Hill, which represent the geographic, history, and local characteristic of 3 hills in Zhenjiang. Mr. Li Xingchao also used , , , , to present the grace of Zhenjiang. Students and faculties of University of Idaho discussed with our delegate several times in the meeting and watched
