December 16, 2013, graduate student JiaYe Chen attended the symposium named FINAL PRESENTATION International academic exchange and seminar held by College of Art and Architecture, University of Idaho. The Dean of Landscape Architecture Professor Stephen R. drown and Gary Austin, attended the report and gave a high evaluation. A total of fifteen students from various countries participate in academic lectures and work report, nearly forty people listened to the report together.
This report is basic on the topic of the recreation work of campus living space, which focus on storm water management, biological diversity and community agriculture purpose. Including overall planning, and focus area expansion design on educational community. Data, plant list, rainstorm management, biological diversity, and community agriculture solution are used in the design progress. the data derived from TR-55 illustrating pre- and post-development cfs, a plot of the subareas and outlet hydrographs, the detention basin storage requirement (post-development volume - pre-development volume), a plan and section of the detention pond and a pond inflow-outflow hydrograph plot. Basic on the theme of the meeting, JiaYe Chen issued an academic report of “traditional Chinese garden art into modern educational space design”. She combined traditional Chinese poetry to the design, and introduce Chinese garden culture to American teachers and students.
